Our Woodturning Tool Rests are made from cold rolled steel. The post are 1" diameter. The rest portion is made from 7/8"cold rolled steel. Our Turning Tool Rests come in three configuration the straight is 13" long. The "J" shape tool rest is use from the head stock toward the tail stock. The "S" shape is used for inside cuts on bowls, will work on bowls about as big as you want to make, it helps to get your tool rest closer to the cutting surface. If you make bowls they are a great tool to have in your arsenal. I make a lot of bowls and these tool rest do speed up the process for me.
